13. The part of the cell shown below is the cell membrane.
The membrane consists of a double layer of phospholipid or fat (the 2 yellow
layers of dots with the squiggly lines between) with protein molecules (shown
in green) embedded within the lipid layer. The protein on the left with the
tunnel through it allows large molecules to pass through. The proteins with
the antennae on them are used for cell recognition.
