Habitat:

Mule deer live in mountain forests , wooded hills & clearings. They are frequently seen in suburban areas which have a mix of wooded areas & agricultural or feral fields.


Mule Deer doe and fawns at Malheur.


Traits:

1) Tail thin with a black tip.

2) Antlers lost each year.

3) Antlers(male only) fork into 2 nearly equal branches.

4) Large ears.

5) Two hooves on ground per foot. 2 hind hooves higher on leg (dew claws).
