3. The 3 cell processes that must occur in order for water to be moved from the roots to the leaves at the top of the tree include:

a) osmosis at the roots

b) cohesion of water molecules within the xylem of the roots, stems and leaves, so that if one water molecule is pulled, the others are pulled along with it.

c) transpiration, or water loss through the stoma, which then pulls other water molecules up the xylem to the leaf.
