[-DNA & RNA Code of Life

The diagram above illustrates a ribosome moving along a strand of messenger RNA at the bottom. Three t-RNA molecules are visible. The ribosome reads the m-RNA code and places complementary bases on a transfer RNA on those codes. This then puts the amino acids in the correct order. When many amino acids have been linked together, a protein or peptide chain has been formed. The protein then is transported to the golgi apparatus for further modification and packaging, while the ribosome moves to another m-RNA molecule to start anew.
