Replication

The result is that 2 identical DNA molecules are eventually formed. The bases which make up the DNA code in the middle will be exactly the same for both DNA molecules.

"Spell-checking" enzymes then follow along each new DNA strand looking for mistakes (mutations) and correct them.

99.99999% of all DNA molecules made during replication are copied exactly!
