1. The stage of mitosis that is shown below is known as anaphase
(late). It is not telophase as the chromosomes are still visible and no cell
plate is visible yet.
During anaphase, the two sister chromatids that were lined
up at the equator begin to be moved apart as they are moved to opposite poles
by the spindle fibers. Once separated, the chromatids are more correctly known
as chromosomes.
