Chloroplast Structure

Chloroplast: The organelle in plant cells that capture light and convert it to sugar energy.

Grana: Look like stacks of green disks. Site of light reactions.

Thylakoids: Individual green disks making up the grana. Contain chlorophyll & other photoysnthetic pigments.

Stroma: Fluid surrounding grana. Site of dark reactions (where sugar is made).
