Thursday March 1, 2001

1. Turn in plant technology research papers, journals, & lab work.

2. Light-dependent & light-independent reactions of photosynthesis.

3. Computer simulation of non-cyclic photophosphorylation

a. Observe program & list what occurs during non-cyclic photophosphorylation.

b. In scientifically organized fashion, use the program to determine which wavelength/s and light intensities produce the greatest amount of ATP (and thus allow photosynthesis to happen the fastest).

Tuesday February 27, 2001

1. Light dependent reactions of photoysnthesis.

2. Use a spectrophotometer to record the absorbance spectrum of chlorophyll.

a. Zero the machine with clean solvent at your 1st wavelength.

b. Insert the chlorophyll mix & record the absorbance reading.

c. Turn the knob to your next wavelength.

d. Repeat stebs a & b.

e. Plot your findings on graph paper. See page 72 in your lab book to set up your graph.
