a) increased abortion rates. If a genetic diseases is discovered in a fetus, the parents may choose to terminate the pregnancy.

b) increased rate of psychological harm. If a person learns they have a genetic disease or may develop one later in life, they may become depressed or suffer worse psychological damage.

c) genetic discrimination. People may be refused employment, benefits, or insurance if others discover they may develop a genetic disease at a later date. They may also not be able to find a mate.
