The Male Reproductive System:

Structure & Function

Testes - In most mammals, the sperm-producing organ.

Scrotum - In most mammals, the pouch that contains the testes.

Seminiferous tubules - A series of convoluted tubules within the testes in which the sperm are formed by meiosis.

Epididymis - A sperm storage vessel. It is a coild part of the sperm duct that lies near the testis.

Urethra - The tube carrying urine from the bladder to the exterior of mammals. In males, it also will carry sperm for discharge.

Vas Deferens - In mammals, the tube carrying sperm from the testes to the urethra.
