Be able to:

1. Draw a diagram of the heart showing all 4 chambers, assoicated blood vessels & valves.

2. Describe the action of the heart in terms of how blood collects, and how blood is pumped through the hear, including the opening and closing of valves.

3. Outline control of the heartbeat in terms of the pacemaker, nerves and adrenalin.

4. Explain the relationship between the structure and function of the arteries, veins and capillaries.

5. State the composition of the blood.

6. State that the blood transports nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hormones, antibodies and urea (the nitrogenous waste that eventually becomes urine).
