The photo above shows many quaking aspen clustered on slopes above the Island Springs Trail #66 about one-half mile east of Little Mt. Adams, Tract D Yakama Nation lands........August 25, 2005. The light-colored bark of the aspen is readily apparent. The grasses are largely Idaho fescue with some bottlebrush squirreltail.
