Whitebark Pine, White-bark Pine: Pinus albicaulis (Synonym: Apinus albicaulis) - Needles in clusters of 5, 3-7 cm long. Seed cones ovoid to sub-globose, 4-9 cm long.

Knobcone Pine: Pinus attenuata - Needles in cllusters of 3, 8-14 cm long. Seed cones strongly asymmetrical at base, 6-15 cm long.

Foxtail Pine: Pinus balfouriana (Synonym: Pinus balfouriana ssp. balfouriana) - Needles in clusters of 5, 1.5-4 cm long. Siskiyou region at the California-Oregon state line.

Shore Pine: Pinus contorta var. contorta (Synonym: Pinus contorta ssp. contorta) - Needles in clusters of 2, 2-7 cm long. Seed cones ovoid to sub-globose, 2-5 cm long. Comon variant on the coast.

Lodgepole Pine: Pinus contorta var. latifolia (Synonyms: Pinus contorta ssp. latifolia, Pinus contorta ssp. murrayana, Pinus contorta var. murrayana, Pinus divaricata var. hendersonii, Pinus divaricata var. latifolia) - Needles in clusters of 2, 2-8 cm long. Seed cones ovoid to sub-globose, 2-5 cm long. Comon variant inland.

Limber Pine: Pinus flexilis - Needles in clusters of 5, 3-6 cm long. Uncommon. Collected from OSU Arboretum, so not native west of the Cascades.

Jeffrey Pine: Pinus jeffreyi - Needles in clusters of 3, 12-25 cm long. Seed cones 15-30 cm long.

Sugar Pine: Pinus lambertiana - Needles in clusters of 5, 5-9 cm long. Seed cones 30-45 cm long.

Mountain White Pine, Western White Pine: Pinus monticola (Synonym: Pinus strobus var. monticola, Strobus monticola) - Needles in clusters of 5, 4-10 cm long. Seed cones 10-25 cm long.

Maritime Pine: Pinus pinaster - Introduced species at scattered locations along the coastline.

Bentham's Ponderosa Pine: Pinus ponderosa var. benthamiana (Synonym: Pinus ponderosa var. pacifica) - Needles in clusters of 3, 12-25 cm long.

Blackjack Pine, Bull Pine, Ponderosa Pine, Western Yellow Pine: Pinus ponderosa var. ponderosa (Synonyms: Pinus ponderosa var. scopulorum, Pinus washoensis) - Needles in clusters of 3, 12-25 cm long. Uncommon west of the Cascade crest.

Foothill Pine, Gray Pine: Pinus sabiniana - Needles in clusters of 3 15-30 cm long. Seed cones 15-20 cm long.

Scotch Fir, Scotch Pine, Scots Pine, Scot's Pine: Pinus sylvestris - Needles in clusters of 2, 3-6 cm long. Seed cones 3-6 cm long.
