A close-up of the flower head of what appears to be spotted knapweed as seen in a waste area where groups evidently camp along the bay side of Bayocean Spit, north Oregon coast.........August 25, 2012. I will need to return in the future and take a good photo of the involucral bracts to confirm this identity.
