Purplestem Beggars-ticks, Swamp Beggar-ticks, Three-lobed Beggarticks, Three-lobed Beggar-ticks, Three-lobed Beggars-ticks: Bidens tripartita (Synonym: Bidens connata) - In Washington, this taxon is known as Bidens connata. Heads erect and generally rayless, though occasionlly with several rays up to 4mm long.

Big Devils Beggartick, Big Devils Beggarticks, Tall Beggarticks, Tall Beggar-ticks, Tall Beggars-ticks, Western Sticktight: Bidens vulgata (Synonyms: Bidens frondosa var. puberula, Bidens puberula) - Heads lacking ray flowers. Disk corollas pale yellow.
