Scouler's Heliotrope, Scouler's Valerian: Valeriana scouleri (Synonyms: Valeriana sitchensis ssp. scouleri, Valeriana sitchensis var. scouleri) - Saucer-shaped clusters of small white flowers atop 2-3 foot stems. Leaves largely basal, either simple with elliptical blades on long petioles, or pinnatifid with entire margins. 2-4 pairs of pinnatifid leaves are found on the stems.

Leaves pinnately compound and mostly on the stems. 2-5 pairs of leaves are found on the stems. The margins are either wavy, scalloped, or with larger round teeth.
