Although not a great photo (at left), this shows the lobes at the base of the leaf blade of pale morning glory. The leaf of the similar Calystegia atriplicifolia lacks such prominent lobes at the base of the blade and has a broader, rounder leaf tip. Photographed on the banks of Rough and Ready Creek about one-third of a mile west of the Redwood Highway.............April 29, 2012. The photo at right shows the leaves of pale morning glory as seen along the Jeffrey Pine Loop Trail (BLM), south side of Eight Dollar Mountain, Josephine County, OR.....April 21, 2021.
