An unidentified checkerbloom planted at the swale garden in the middle of the parking lot at the headquarters of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Area............September 18, 2011. Note the hairs on the leaves. The calyx lobes appear to widen slightly before narrowing to the tip. It is unknown how long the calyces and petals are, or whether the stems are hollow or not. Those factors will need to be determined thus upcoming bloom season.
