Two close-up views of the flowers of Hooker's fairy bells along with a large bumble bee as seen at Island Cabin Campground on the southeastern flanks of Mt. Adams...........May 19, 2006. Note the tiny spreading hairs on the peduncles as well as at the base of the tepals. The similar fairy lanterns has tepals which hang straight down rather than flaring outwards at the tips.
