Close-up of the male catkins of unidentified willow #27. This may be the same species as willow #25? The catkins are flowering before the leaves occur. Twig color is yellowish. No female plants were observed, although I didn't venture off the trail to look for them. Photographed along the gravel road along the west bank of the Catherine Creek between the trailhead and the road ford of Catherine Creek. I should have photos of the leaves someplace, so will try to look for them to add to this page.
