Close-up of the male catkins of unidentified willow #25. The catkins are flowering before the leaves occur. Twig color is yellowish. No female plants were observed, although I didn't venture off the trail to look for them. Photographed along the old abandoned railroad grade along the east bank of the Deschutes River where the creek from Ferry Springs crosses railroad bed about one and one-half miles upstream from the mouth of the Deschutes River.
