Oyster Plants of the Columbia River Gorge
1. Yellow Salsify, Oysterplant: Tragopogon dubius - Lemon-yellow flower heads are as wide as a 50 cent piece. The green, linear bracts beneath the flower heads are much longer than the flowers. Leaves are found on the stems and at the base of the plant, and are long, linear, and grass-like. Plants from 40-80 cm tall.
2. Vegetable Oyster,Salsify: Tragopogon porrifolius - Flower heads wholly purple or brownish-purple with yellow eye. Plants from 50-120 cm high.
