This photo shows a close-up of the inflorescence of Sierra rush as seen in wetlands along Kreps Lane where the road crosses the central canal in Conboy Lake NWR..........June 21, 2008. Note the 4 flower heads on the stem and the anthers which are about the same length as the filaments. Variety nevadensis typically has more than 5 flower heads per stem, although both varieties have now been lumped into var. nevadensis.
