Lacelip ferns growing in rock crevices on the vertical basalt cliffs at Horsethief Butte, Columbia Hills State Park.............February 4, 2011. This site seems to be one of the largest, easy to access places to view this attractive fern. Unfortunately, it doesn't grow well in the garden because it is hard for us to recreate its rocky habitat. The spikemoss observed above the fern is Wallace's spikemoss (Selaginella wallacei).
