Thicket Hairstreak

Mitoura spinetorum

Thicket Hairstreak: Mitoura spinetorum

What appears to be a thicket hairstreak resting on western juniper (Juniperus occidentalis) several miles west of Arlington, Oregon atop the gorge rimrock about one mile south of the Columbia River...........May 12, 2012. Note the white markings on the ventral hind wing which are prominent across the whole width of that wing. Cedar hairstreaks are also present at this particular site.
