Minute forms of cushion miner's lettuce as seen in gravel soils at the edge of the parking area for the Cherry Orchard Trail...............March 7, 2011. Note the ovate leaves that are widest near the middle of the blade. Although hard to see in these photos, the stem leaves vary from perfoliate to notched on one side, to deeply connate on one side.
