The photo above shows a close-up of the long, slender flowers of annual cow vetch as seen at Catherine Creek in the central Columbia River Gorge.........June 3, 2006. Note how the back of the calyx extends backwards (or upwards) from the pedicel. Note also the unequal calyx lobes for each flower. They are shortest on the upper portion of the calyx and much longer and thinner as lateral and ventral lobes.
Range:
In the Columbia River Gorge, it may be found between the elevations
of 100-2000' across most of the Gorge.
