Wild Carrot, Queen Annes's Lace: Daucus carota (Synonyms: Daucus carota ssp. carota, Daucus carota ssp. sativus) - Tall biennials from 20-120 cm high. Involucral bracts with the segments firm, long and narrow or needle-like. umbellets mostly 20-many flowered. Leaf blades 5-15 cm long and 2-7 cm wide with the segments linear to lanceolate, 2-12 mm long by 0.5-2 mm wide.

American Carrot, American Wild Carrot, Rattlesnake Weed: Daucus pusillus (Synonyms: Daucus carota var. microphylla, Daucus microphyllus) - Slender annuals from 5 -60 cm high. Involucral bracts with the segments broader and shorter than above, linear to lanceolate in shape. Umbellets mostly 5-12 lfowered. Leaf blades 3-10 cm long by 1.5-7 cm wide, the segments linear in shape, 1-5 mm long and 0.5-1 mm wide.
