The photo above shows jimson-weed as seen on the west bank of the Deschutes River at its mouth.........October 7, 2006. The corolla of Datura stramonium is shorter (6-9 cm long) than that of Datura wrighii (15-20 cm long).

The photo above shows a close-up of the flower, leaves and thorny fruit of jimson-weed as seen on the west bank of the Deschutes River at its mouth..........October 7, 2006. The leaves are greener and the ribs of the calyx are somewhat winged on this species while the leaves of Datura wrightii are grayer (felt-like hairs) with the calyx ribbed rather than winged.
