Longbeak Stork's Bill, Prostrate Storksbill: Erodium botrys - Lower leaves simple with 7-9 divisions or lobes. Flowers lavender with the petals slightly longer than the sepals. Pistil develops into a long, thin, needle-like seed pod (often called a stork's bill or crane's bill).

African Filaree, Common Stork's Bill, Filaree, Redstem Stork's Bill, Red-stemmed Filaree: Erodium cicutarium (Synonyms: Erodium aethiopicum, Erodium cicutarium ssp. cicutarium, Erodium cicutarium ssp. jacquinianum, Erodium ethiopicum) - Lower leaves compund and twice pinnate (branching twice) with 9-15 leaflets. Leaves often purplish tinged. Flowers rose to purplish. Petals thinnly elliptical with no notch at tips. Pistil develops into a long, thin, needle-like seed pod (often called a stork's bill or crane's bill).
