Common Juniper: Juniperus communis var. depressa (Synonyms: Juniperus communis ssp. depressa) - Collected along the Park Road above the Igloo Creek cabin, near the Toklat cabin, near the railroad station at the park entrance, and at the north end of Wonder Lake.
Western White Spruce, White Spruce: Picea glauca (Synonyms: Abies canadensis, Picea alba, Picea alba var. albertiana, Picea albertiana, Picea canadensis, Picea canadensis var. glauca, Picea glauca var. albertiana, Picea glauca var. densata , Picea glauca var. porsildii, Pinus alba, Pinus glauca) - Generally found on upland areas with deeper permafrost, so plants are more robust.
Black Spruce: Picea mariana (Synonyms: Abies mariana, Picea brevifolia, Picea mariana var. brevifolia, Picea nigra, Pinus nigra) - Generally more spindly (due to permafrost near the ground surface) than white spruce and found in low spots such as peat bogs or low spots along streams.
