Two dall sheep ewes resting atop a high knoll in the upper Stony Creek drainage......................September 6, 2009. From this vantage point, the ewes could keep an eye on a grizzly sow and her two cubs (less than a year old) which were feeding on blueberries about 700 feet lower and one-half mile distant. The dall sheep were about 100 meters away from us but were high enough above us to not be too concerned about our prescence.

The photos on this page show dall sheep as seen atop Thorofare Mt., Denali National Park and Preserve in June, 2002. I was busy photographing some saxifrages when they went walking by about 50 meters away.
