Phoebis rurina

This butterfly was photographed at the Butterfly Garden at Monteverde, Costa Rica on January 1, 1997.

This butterfly saw me coming and leaned its wings hard agains the leaf it was on, and then sat there motionless as I photograhed it. It is a little bit more yellow in color than this photo suggests. I would appreciated hearing whether I identified it correctly!
