that the outer (basal) involucral bracts are shorter than the inner (upper)
bracts.
The photo above shows chicory in gravel along Kreps Lane in Conboy
National Wildlife Refuge...........July 9, 2006. Plants have either
light blue or cream-colored flower heads. I've noticed that cattle often go
for this plant as a food source before other weedy species!
