The Genus Artemisia

The photo above shows the south-facing slopes of the Ridge of Wonders on Mt. Adams with numerous big sagebrush visible with its silvery blue-green foliage and emerging, erect inflorescences evident here. In addition, a large quantity of Artemisia douglasiana grows alongside the big sage. The lupine seen here is Lupinus sericeus ssp. sericeus var. flexuosus.
