wheatgrass as seen on the south-facing slopes of the Ridge of Wonders at about
5560' at the southeastern corner of Mt. Adams............July 30, 2005.
The photo above shows the long awn of the seed of bluebunch
wheatgrass ? as seen along Road #82 at the trailhead for the Pineway Trail
#71...........August 25, 2005. The awns of this species may be absent
or long and turned stongly laterally from the axis of the seed.
