Common liverwort as seen at right on the forest floor along the Stagman Ridge Trail #12 where the trail crosses the ridgeline just west of Grassy Hill, Mount Adams Wilderness..........October 5, 2014. This particular site was burned fairly hard by the Cascade Complex Fire, so much so that very little has regrown on the ground at this particular location. The photo at right shows common liverwort growing on severely burned soils resulting from the 2015 Cougar Creek Fire.
