This grasshopper was seen sunning on a rock with many other young grasshoppers and one western river cruiser (dragonfly) in moist sedge meadows along Shorthorn Creek, about 100 meters north of the crossing of Shorthorn Trail #16 in the Mt. Adams Wilderness..........July 24, 2008.

This grasshopper was seen sunning on a rock with many other young grasshoppers and one western river cruiser (dragonfly) in moist sedge meadows along Shorthorn Creek, about 100 meters north of the crossing of Shorthorn Trail #16 in the Mt. Adams Wilderness...........July 24, 2008. I'm not sure if both hoppers pictured on this page are the same species or not. Note that the individual in the bottom photo is developing wings.
