Beetles of Mount Adams Country

A large dark beetle that landed on me, about the size of my thumb. It looks somewhat like a black pine sawyer (Monochamus obtusus). Photographed at the parking area for Bird Creek Meadows on the eastern slopes of Mt. Adams.........July 16, 2006.
