What appears to be nesting saxifrage as seen along a small vernal stream spilling over the west rim of the Klickitat River canyon, Klickitat Canyon NRCA.........May 1, 2015. I believe the leaf blades were glabrous and longer than their petioles.
The photo above shows the flowers of nesting
saxifrage as seen along Rd 6000 at a moist, rocky meadow near 2780' on the southeast
side of Mt. Adams.........May 14, 2005.
The photo above shows the basal leaves of
nesting saxifrage as seen along Rd 6000 at a moist, rocky meadow near 2780'
on the southeast side of Mt. Adams........May 6, 2006. Note how the base of the leaf tapers somewhat gradually into the petiole. A leaf base that tapers much more gradually would be Micranthes integrifolia. One that tapers abruptly would be Micranthes fragosa.
