The photos of bittercherry in bloom were taken at a clearcut along the Gifford Pinchot NF forest road 82 at an elevation of about 2500'. Photographed on May 7, 2005. These photos represent variety emarginata (the shrub-like variety) although variety mollis (more tree-like) may also be found on the east side of the mountain.

The 3 photos show the red fruits of bittercherry as seen on large bushes along Road #23 several miles north of Trout Lake, WA.....................August 11, 2008.
