The photos of bittercherry in bloom were taken at a
clearcut along the Gifford Pinchot NF forest road 82 at an elevation of about
2500'. Photographed on May 7, 2005. These photos represent variety emarginata
(the shrub-like variety) although variety mollis (more tree-like) may
also be found on the east side of the mountain.
