The photo above shows a close-up of the flowers of Henderson's phlox as seen along the Highline Trail #114 at about 6800' on the northern slopes of Mt. Adams..........July 10, 2005. Henderson's phlox has flowers that are several millimeters less in diameter than spreading phlox (Phlox diffusa). In addition, Henderson's phlox tends to bloom about 1-2 weeks earlier than spreading phlox when they are found in the same location.
