The photo above shows a slightly out of focus view of the flower of bicolored lupine as seen along Lakeside Road in Conboy Lake NWE.........June 21, 2008. This species is similar to small-flowered lupine (Lupinus micranthus) which has the banner pressed more forward towards the wings than this species does. The species gets its name "bicolor" from the large white portion at the center of the bluish banner.
