The photo above shows a close-up of the flower of fringed grass of Parnassus as seen along Forest Rd 2329 at the East Fork Adams Creek on the north side of Mt. Adams at about 4600'................June 21, 2005. Note the numerous fringes along the margins of the lower petals, the white stamens at the center of the flower, and the yellow, sterile staminodia ringing the stamens and pistil. All photos on this page were taken at this site.

The photo above shows a close-up of the flower of fringed grass of Parnassus as seen along Forest Rd 2329 at the East Fork Adams Creek on the north side of Mt. Adams at about 4600'................June 21, 2005. One can easily see the fleshy, blunt teeth on each stamninode, the broad white anthers, and the forked tip of the stigma at the center of the flower.
