The photo above shows the upper surface of a leaf of alpine prickly currant
as seen along the Highline Trail #114 at an elevation of 7680' on the northeastern
side of Mt. Adams.........July 24, 2005. Note the numerous
glands on the upper and lower leaf surfaces, which help differentiate this prickly
species from prickly currant, Ribes lacustre, which
has glabrous leaf surfaces.
