Floerkea proserpinacoides
Synonym: Floerkea occidentalis
The photo above shows a close-up of the flowers
of false-mermaid. Notice that the petals are about one-half the length of the
sepals.
This species is a small, prostrate annual found
in vernally moist areas, generally east of the Cascade Mts. Note the ternately
to pinnately compound leaves.
