Can you help verify the identity of this fungus?

Unidentified fungus #53 growing from a stump along the trail to Butte Camp about one-half mile north of the Redrock Pass trailhead, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument..........September 19, 2014. The white deposits are the calicified remains of the previous seasons' fungus.
