Indian Pond Lily, Spatterdock, Wakas, Yellow Water-lily: Nuphar polysepala (Synonyms: Nuphar lutea, Nuphar lutea ssp. polysepala, Nuphar polysepalum, Nymphaea polysepala) -Native. The yellowish sepals usually number about nine, each measuring 3.5-6 cm long. The numerous stamens are reddish-purplish in color. The floating leaves are heart-shaped and 10-45 cm long.

Fragrant Water-lily, White Water Lily: Nymphaea odorata ssp. odorata - Introduced specis. Uncommon in the Cascade Mountains. 4 greenish sepals, as large as the petals but less showy. Numerous petals are white to pinkish. Ovary partially inferior.
