Bristly Nootka rose blooming at left on the eastern shoreline of Walupt Lake, Goat Rocks Wilderness.........July 11, 2018. The photo at right shows the mature fruit (rose hip) of bristly Nootka rose on the banks of the Lewis River along the Lewis River Trail about one-half mile or so downstream of Bolt Camp, Gifford Pinchot National Forest.....October 13, 2023. On this variety of Nootka rose, the leaflet margins are singly toothed and lack glands at the tooth tips. The stems are generally sparsley prickled.
