The photo at left shows the upper surface of the leaf blade while the photo at right shows the lower leaf surface of fan-shaped cinquefoil as seen in grasslands at MP 7.0 along the Hat Pt. Road, Hell's Canyon National Recreation Area..........June 26, 2007. Notice that the leaflets are dissected more than 2/3 of the way in to the midstem, and that they are dark green above. Notice the white-tomentose covering of hairs on the underside of the leaf.
